In the second month of 2001, I got a big job since my graduate school days, as a School Administrator / Chief Operating Officer for a prestigious large education system company. 

It was a great call to my career that I never thought - to initiate the start up operation of a new business school, from zero to 1, bounded by time.

In high spirit, the task brought me joy! 

Though I had written notes and several book references, I'd only dreamed of managing big entity using my acquired knowledge from the streets. 

Looking for some back-ups I reviewed my old notes. In my study filing cabinet, I saw old papers and letters. They showed its age, soft brittled when you hold on it. I put time to browse my old documents and got something that made me engrossed - the biographies of traditional management "gurus".

Truly, I was inspired to read  business mentor's backgrounds. It adds to my lore.

Frederick W. Taylor, an American inventor and engineer who is known as the Father of Scientific Management. He was motivated to create the ultimate, efficient work environment, he devised a system he termed Scientific Management. He believed in finding the right jobs for workers, and then paying them well for the increased output.

Douglas Mcgregor, was an American. management professor at the MIT Sloan School of Management and at the Indian School of Management in Calcutta. His 1960 book The Human Side of Enterprise had a profound influence on education practices. He developed two contrasting theories, Theory X and Theory Y.
